Surprise Tin Easter Egg Petals Fold Open to Glimpse Chick


This little gadget is a fun toy. It has distinguished tin lithographed “Flower Petals” that fit together forming a colorful Easter egg. The colorful curved panels have exceptional lithographed color graphics. You hold the device in one hand, and pump the push button with your thumb. The mechanical egg starts spinning and when it gains speed the petals slowly open to reveal a small baby chicken.

When the spinning slows down, the eggs petals snap shut hiding the chick. The sophisticated mechanism does it all. You can’t see the chick unless you pump the button and spin the egg! About half tin and half plastic. Early 1960’s Japanese import. An extraordinary example of Mechanized Tin Litho. This item is typical of stuff in the large Dime Store merchandise finds we made.
