Complete set mounted on their Original Store Display Card and still in the original packaging! This display is 9 inches wide and 11inches tall. It contains one gross of the 3 inch, square, Penny Tattoos. Commonly found in Ma and Pa stores, dime stores, General Stores, Novelty Stores, etc. in the late 1940's and through the 1950's.

Each Penny Tattoo is perforated into 4 sections each with an individual tattoo. 1¢ got you your choice of a set of 4 tattoos that you wet, put on your arm for a few seconds, and remove the paper leaving the water soluble ink on your arm, looking like a tattoo! Sometimes called a transfer.

Kids would buy these with the sailors or ships if dad was in the Navy, or airplanes if he was in the Air Force, etc. Note the reverse lettering! Fantastic detailing and colors!
