Amedo Obici and Mario Peruzzi Started “Planters” in 1906 with 2 peanut roasters. Peruzzi had developed his own method of blanching whole roasted peanuts, doing away with the troublesome hulls and skins; and so with six employees, two large roasters, and crude machinery, Planters was founded. After WW I, They no longer had an exclusive contract with the Armed services for all the peanuts they could make. In 1920, Amedo built several “wheeled” hot Peanut Stands. He was using plain white bags, and had a customer tell him that everyone at work was asking where he got the bag of the best peanuts from.

That week, Amedo met with a bag maker, and came up with a Green, waxed Glassine bag. With the now famous Mr. Peanut holding the “Pennant” flag, and the saying, “The Nickel Lunch”. Genuine 1920’s stock. The bags are in Perfect Condition. We hermetically seal one and mail it 1st Class US Postal to you for $1.00.
