Left Side Bracket & Mounting Screws Wood Score Wheel Reset String ~ Adjustment Wire & Lug Stop Screw

(Black Philips head screw. Look Close at the score strip face between "0" and 100")

Score Strip Rotary Rewind Spring Spring retention washer Sprag / Sprocket score release and pivot + Small Spring pulling down Right hand bracket & Mounting Screws Ball escalator strap return spring

Not part of score mechanism. It returns the ball drop escalator to the top

When installing, start from left side (As shown). Mount left bracket. Remove "Stop" screw" from score wheel face. Put left pivot of wood wheel in top bracket mounting hole. Put on rotary spring, (Not more than 4 turns, 3 turns is usually enough), and hook one end to wood on score wheel side, put spring over wood shaft, Place spring retention washer, and mount other end of the rotary spring to a small post sticking up from left bracket, as you slide left bracket into place and mount it. Replace "Stop Screw". The "Crescent" shaped spracket release should  fit in between nails on the wood score wheel. When the ball drop escalator is quickly toggled, it should push down on the shaft of the spracket, and allow 1 score number to rotate up.

Remove lug from reset wire / string. Run reset string and wire up through hole in reset bar. Temporarily set the lug about 2 inches from the end of the wire. Calculate where to tighten the reset string under the screw on the side of the score wheel so that when you can get the wheel to rotate so the "Stop" screw hits the front of the machine and will not allow it to go much farther than "100". Adjust the "0" Lug so that when the coin slide is fully pushed in the wheel go's just slightly past "0".

To Adjust it

First, use a cotton swab, and a light sewing machine oil, and oil all the nails on the side of the wood wheel lightly. Also make sure the ball escalator 's pivot is well lubricated, and the score wheel rotary points, the crescent shaped sprocket pivot point, etc. Be careful not to get oil on the score strip. First make sure the wheel can reset to the stop screw, and it is at "0". Then toggle the ball escalator rapidly and see that the wheel will walk around to "100" points. Some will need a nudge to rock the ratchet sprag off the nail. Using a small needle nose pliers, bend the nails slightly as appropriate to allow the score to toggle one step each time you drop a ball into the front score hole. It can take up to a half hour to make this adjustment, a slight bend on an occasional nail is all that is needed.

The Ball drop Escalator

It is the pivoting flat strap that goes from the score wheel to the ball chute that a winning ball drops into. There is a small spring, (Seen alone on the right in photos above), pulling down, near the score wheel end. The other end should be at the top of the ball score hole on the right side of the machine.  The other end is held down to a peg for springs on the back of the playfield. The ball drops into the win hole, It's weight pushes down on the bar. There is a special shoulder bolt at the pivot, because it must move freely. As the small spring is stretched by the ball dropping, it pivots the other end of the bar comes up, and toggles the pin on the score wheel assembly to advance the score. The ball then drops off the escalator, and the spring returns the escalator to it's home position.
