This Jack Sprat cellophane bag was used by grocers for Jack Sprat bulk foods sold by the weight. Things like roasted Coffee Beans, Nuts, Pop Corn, etc. Many grocery items came in bulk barrels or gunny sacks, and were sold by the ounce back then. The patent date indicates it was first used in 1932. It is 8 inches high, 4 ¾ inches wide and has non-gusseted sides.

4 color printing! It says, "Jack Sprat Quality Foods" and has the famous head & shoulders graphic of Jack with his high cone shaped hat. At the bottom in small letters it says Distributed by Sales Producers Associates, Inc. Chicago Illinois. On the bottom in real small letters it says Patent No. 1867314. Phenomenal graphics. It is extra thick cellophane with a thumb tab at the top. Not brittle, Slightly yellow age patina, otherwise Perfect Condition. Unusual Jack Sprat item.
