Old Mill Hand Packed

1940's Ice Cream Box

Waxed Cardboard ~ Tapered Shape

This is what a nickel would get you after the war. One pint of hand packed Ice Cream. This unused container is a slightly tapered trapezoid shape and stands 4 inches tall. It has a prominent illustration of an old windmill. Called, "Old Mill Ice Cream", It was hand packed into these take home containers. Fresh ice cream didn't come pre-packed for home use back then.

The Red, White and Blue graphics have striking visual impact. The side says, "Ice Cream Keeps Best at 0 Degrees." Made by the Old Mill Ice Cream Company, Davenport, Iowa.
