This type of target set was first made for the Daisy Air Rifle commonly known as a BB Gun in the 1930's. Daisy's production ran into the early 1960's with the exception of WW II, when it was made for training US troops. This target set is a small steel box, 4 ½ by 5 inches, 2 inches thick. It has a small hole in the back to hang it on a nail on a fencepost, tree, or whatever. It has side grooves in front of the face plate that you slide a Paper Target Card down into. It holds the target firmly.

Behind the target is a solid steel face plate with a 1 inch hole in the center of it, directly behind the target's bulls eye. If you hit the bulls eye, the BB goes through the hole and hits an internal bell mechanism with a resounding loud ring! Here is a view looking down from the top edge.

The solid steel face plate is almost 1/8 inch thick. This is not a target box made by Daisy, but a solidly built system. All heavy gauge steel target support frame and "Bulls Eye" bell mechanism that captures the BB's. Never shot at, No BB dings, No scratches, Not old! There are a few small age spots of minor insignificant surface oxidation patina (rust), scarcely noticeable (See Photo Above).

New, in the box, complete with a pad of 12 thick paper target cards. The target cards have advertising on the back for Daisy ammunition and for the Daisy Bell Target Set that sold for 25¢. The box also has instructions on the side explaining how to hang and use a Daisy Bell Target.
