This exceptional display arrangement is typical of 1950’s Dime Store & department store sundries merchandising displays. The set consists of a colorful illustrated window or wall sign and a coordinated pop up marquis style counter top display box Complete with 24 pairs of 45 inch brown & tan twisted colors, heavy duty sport boot laces. Great for hiking or football shoes or skates. Interesting classic retailing set-up supplied by the shoe lace distributor.

The stiff cardboard sign is 15 ¾ inches wide by 7 ½ inches high. Extraordinary patriotic style graphics in Red, White, Blue and Yellow. It says, Wear “Best” Shoe Laces ~ Good Shoe Laces for a Nickle ~ Better Ones a Dime and has remarkable illustrations of a man and a monkey tugging on each end of a shoe lace and a pictorial of an old fashioned high top shoe and 2 pairs of new laces wrapped in the traditional paper band. (Note the pre-war spelling of the word Nickel)

The matching die cut box is 7 ½ by 5 inches. Compact shelf storage space of only 2 inches thick when closed, but turns into an astonishing, eye catching, counter top display appearance that’s over 6 inches high and almost a foot wide with the pop-up fold out back marquis opened. The box has similar illustrations and wording of the sign. It’s a real attention getter! Subliminal marketing strategy of showing 2 pairs of new laces and an annotation printed on the backside of the box that only the sales clerk can see that says, Get More Sales ~ Suggest an Extra Pair and gives tips on how to set up the display box to maximize sales. Another back side annotation says, Mr. Merchant: This box is designed to display and sell Best ~ PaulAnne ~ Alox and other brands of quality shoe and boot laces available from Gulack Distributors ~ Brooklyn 1, New York. Gulack Distributors would supply the sign and box with wholesale purchases of their laces.

The set comes with 24 pair of heavy duty sport boot laces! The 2 dozen pair of laces have the typical 50’s era banding around each pair. High quality, strong multi filament woven string, twisted colors, round laces with celluloid clinches. Brown & tan dual twisted filament, 45 inches long. Everything is in Perfect Condition.
