Fold-Out Dime Store Cards

1950's Valentines ~ Set of 4

This set of four valentines came from a bulk, 1 gross assortment box, that Dime Stores, Gift Shops, Country Stores, etc. would buy from a wholesale distributor in the 1950's, and sell individually. Here's a shot of the box.

The set includes one of each of the 4 different valentines that were in the box. The valentines have superb graphics and colors! They come flat, but all have Fold Out Features that hide part of the picture and text and the senders name, until you "pop back" the folds and reveal the whole message and picture and who sent it!

The assortment includes a puppy next to an opened can of food, a puppy chewing on a shoe, a kitten with a ball of yarn and a bear with his paw in a bee hive. They also all have a fold out "standing tab" at the bottom, for displaying them standing up on a table or desk top. The small scans below show them flat, the way they come in the box and the way we ship them.

In the local D&C Dime Store in my hometown of Rochester Michigan, back in the 1950's there were Penny Cards, 2 Penny Cards and Nickel Cards. This was a 2¢ Card. We folded up one set for the more detailed photo below. You are getting the unused flat set, right out of the box. Perfect Condition. You Get the set of all 4. We pack them securely with an acid free archival quality cardboard backer in a poly plastic bag and send them First Class U.S. Postal.
