Stafford’s Black Indelible Ink

1930’s ~ Glass Bottle

This bottle has never been opened. Stafford ink came in a 1 oz bottle with a tin lithographed screw on lid. Unlike Sheaffer Skrip and Waterman’s, Stafford’s had a simple lid seal arrangement that was not absolutely air tight. Even though the bottle has never been opened, some liquid has leaked over the last half century. It is still almost full, but some of the ink that leaked partially obscures the label graphics. Other than that it is in Perfect Condition.

See Photo Below

It stands 2 inches high and is 1 ½ inches in diameter. The label has interesting graphic layout. It describes the ink as Cloth Marking Ink. The lid says S.S. Stafford Inc. Since 1858. We found 1 box of these in an old dime store.

This item is typical of stuff in the large Dime Store merchandise finds we made. If you like vintage Dime Store and Variety Store stuff, bookmark us. We pack it securely and send it First Class U.S. Postal.
