Old Dime Store Counter Top Display Huge Cat Head Balloons Die Cut Store Display ~ Clown & 36 Balloons Double Balloon Inside a Balloon! This incredible, die cut point of sale display set comes with all of it’s 36 large balloons of two different styles, completely intact. Exceptionally colorful cardboard display unit exudes outstanding characteristics. It is 12 inches wide and 16 ½ inches tall. The remarkable era graphics include a distinctive illustration of a Classic Circus Clown with a small hat, red nose and huge bow tie. It also has children parading down the street in a balloon parade. Seldom do you see such a striking display. Attractive to the eye and exciting to children, young and old! See Photo Below These are not ordinary dime store balloons. They are Tuf-Tex Rubber Super Balloons. Much more substantial and robust than the ordinary latex balloon. Each style comes in assorted vivid colors, partially transparent translucent. The 2 different styles can be put together as a double balloon inside a balloon! There are the two eared, Mickey Mouse or Cathead (Cat Head) style balloons. There are also the traditional round or Pear shaped balloons, 16 inches round and over a foot and a half long when inflated! They are all super large rubber balloons of high quality, not like cheap latex balloons. It was a popular combination; You use the eraser end of a pencil to stuff the Cat Head Balloon inside the large pear shaped balloon. You hold the neck of one aside and partially inflate the large pear shaped balloon, then inflate the Cat Head balloon that is inside it all the way and tie it. The results are a very large pear shaped balloon with a Cat Head balloon completely filling the inside of it. This was a very popular balloon style from the 1960’s through the 1980’s. This unique counter top display is an ingenious, one piece heavy commercial stock cardboard die cut, with star holes that hold the balloons. It folds wide open, and then back, forming a two sided sleeve with a slightly curved convex front that exhibits the balloons well and a sturdy back to hold it firmly on the counter. The footprint on the counter top is like an oval a foot wide and 4 inches thick. It also has a second set of tab slots to make it a complete cylinder shaped 360° display. You will never find a nicer balloon display. Perfect Condition. It is about 20 years old, but the complete set has been protected in a special plastic bag to prevent ozone age damage to the rubber balloons. They have been taped shut in a box on a shelf in the dime store distributors warehouse their whole life. The balloons are still subtle and soft and can be used. Very Large when inflated!
