Japan Store Toy Display Card

1950's Merchandising Card

Point of Sale Card with 12 Magnifying Glasses

Says in large letters on the front. Made in Osaka Japan. One of the 1000s of post war imports we brought over from Japan in the 60s & 70s. Fantastic Graphics. Typical Warehouse handling patina, dirt, etc. I sell them the way I find 'em. Collectors like it that way. The Display Card is in 7 colors, and has appealing details. It shows oversized bugs, etc. Things a kid would like to look at. The 12 accompanying magnifying glasses have assorted colors of plastic handles. The lens area is 1  1/2 inches across.

The rubber bands that held them to the card have dried out, long ago. They are easy to replace with new ones. A Corner Ma & Pa Store would have several different merchandise display cards at one time. Each time the distributor called they had different ones. Toys like this helped Jump Start Japan after the war. The only got pennies for them, and were made of hard to find materials. But it started their manufacturing economy.

Most of Japans Post War Factories were at a Families home, and they were the only employees. Some companies floated to the top, hiring those whose companies who weren't working. We Hermetically seal it all on a hardboard, and pack it in a small box. We wrap, & box this 10 1/2  by 7 1/2, inch card, with the magnifying glasses, (find your own rubber bands). Buyer pays postage.
