Science - Fiction Transfers Booklet

1950's Japan ~ Penny Tattoos

Book of 24 ~ Sci-Fi

Here is a vintage treat for Sci-Fi Fans from the 1950's. One of the famous Penny Toys that Japan was exporting for the decade after WWII. This is a Classic 1950's Penny Tattoo Booklet, 3 ½ by 2 inches. A penny Tattoo is a small multicolor photo illustration, printed in reverse, on paper with water soluble inks. You wet the paper, place it on your arm, hold it still and rub the back with your finger for a few seconds, carefully remove the paper, and you have an instant temporary tattoo! My older brother would let me have the used paper, and if I was careful, I could squeeze a faded second tattoo from it.

This colorful booklet has a phenomenal cover graphic illustration that Science Fiction collectors covet. It features a Space Station, a satellite, 2 space ships and a timeless Japanese rendition of a space alien. It contains 4 pages of tattoos, each with 6 tattoos, for a total of 24 individual different tattoos. One page features animals, another features Cowboys and Indians, another features what modern vehicles looked like in the 50's, and one page devoted exclusively to Sci-Fi including Spaceships and Aliens.

If you own one of the other two booklets from this 1950's series, (Superman & Cowboys and Indians) this set contains all different tattoo transfers. No nips, No tears, no folds, Perfect Condition.
