Tin Litho Action Toy

Magic Jumping Frog

1950's ~ Japan

This incredible little fellow is made of embossed tin, with 3 dimensional features highlighted by two color tin lithography. He contains an ingenious spring loaded mechanism that makes him a very entertaining and surprising toy. You fold down the spring loaded bottom flipper on the underside of his body. There is a black pliable substance on the inside that the flipper trigger adheres to for a short period of time. After "arming" him, you place him on any hard surface, like a table or floor. He looks innocent enough just sitting there, but wait a little while and he will suddenly POP and leap up into the air over a foot, doing flips and spins in an entertaining way.

You never know how long it will be when he decides to jump into action! He can be used over and over. He is over 2 inches long, and comes on his original 1 ¾ by 3 inch dime store display card that says' Magic Jumping Frog and has a swamp background with the frog wired down using a small steel wire twisted on the back of the card. Both the card and the toy say Made in Japan.

The card graphics are perfect, minor age fade to the card. The frog has excellent tin litho characteristics. No dings or scrapes, no flaking, expected insignificant scratch patina near the mounting wire, otherwise, Perfect Condition! It works great and is a lot of fun and it's a unique tin litho collectable wind up. We pack it securely and send it First Class U.S. Postal.
