Metal & Wood ~ German Old House Cleaning Toy Set Dime Store Box with Remarkable Graphics This old toy housecleaning set has no plastic! Quality made, it consists of 6 items in the old dime store display box. It has a 6 inch wood handled broom with real bristles, a 2 ¼ inch tall steel bucket with a wire handle & wood grip, a 3 inch long tin dust pan with a hanging hole, a 1 ½ inch long real sponge, a wood hand whisk broom with real bristles, and a real 2 ¼ inch long bar of soap that says Nadia Toys. These are all excellent quality items! The bucket has rolled rims and a turned birch handle grip. The brooms bristles are bunched together into individual holes in a birch wood head and handles. The graphics on the box lid feature 2 little girls in aprons, cleaning a room in a house. The back of the box has a small label printed in German. I believe it to made in former East Germany. I have never seen such quality in a small girls set like this. All the items are proportionally correct and have characteristics that look like the real items, only miniature. The box is about 7 ½ inches long, 2 ½ inches high and 2 inches wide. There is a small die cut display stage inside that the items neatly nestle into. Perfect Condition! I only have a few sets. The colors of the bucket and the dustpan might vary from the photo below. This item is typical of stuff in the large Dime Store merchandise finds we made. If you like vintage Dime Store and Variety Store stuff, bookmark us. We pack it securely and send it First Class U.S. Postal. Notice : This item is a genuine vintage toy from an era when there were no safety standards. It probably contains, or is, a choking hazard, and probably includes other features that are not suitable for children to play with. It is not being sold as a toy for a child to play with, but as a genuine vintage collectable item for adults. |
