1950's Japan Decoration in the Original Package

Halloween Decoration Scarecrow

Folded Paper Fan-Out Style Corn Shock & Pumpkin

This Vintage Halloween table decoration was typical of Japanese Imports of the 1950's. It features a Die Cut, stiff cardboard, Scarecrow, printed on both sides, 11 inches tall. He is leaning on a bundle of tied up corn stalks, commonly referred to as a corn shock. At his feet is a large, orange pumpkin.

See Photo Below

The Corn Shock and the Pumpkin are each made of folded and glued paper, with die cut card ends that open up 360º unfolding the convoluted paper body of the shock and the pumpkin. They have small metal clips that you fold bend over the edge to keep the display open. Over a foot wide when opened. Ideal centerpiece. Stands up on it's own. Bright, vivid colors, still in the original Dime Store package. I found one box of them at an old closed up Variety Store in a small town. They haven't seen daylight for decades. Perfect Condition.

This item is typical of stuff in the large Dime Store merchandise finds we made. If you like vintage Dime Store and Variety Store stuff, bookmark our sellers page. We pack it securely and send it First Class U.S. Postal.
