1950's Japan ~ 5 Cars

Indy Style Race Car Set

Tin Litho 5¢ Store Toy Display Pack

This set of toys is typical of what a nickel would buy in the 1950's. Japan was exporting tin lithographed toys in the 50's, some were even made from old beer cans turned inside out, others from recycled war materials. They were made to sell cheap. Early Japan tin lithography has grown into a hot collectable!

This set consists of 5 distinctive Indy Style Race Cars, each a different color, and numbered 1 through 5, and over 1 ½ inches long. Exceptional 3 dimensional features litho'ed with highly refined details and distinguished characteristics expected in a 1950's Japan import.

You can observe the expressions on the drivers faces! The complete set comes in a small store display package with a colorful car racing graphic, checkered flag and all, printed on both sides. It has a small circle for the merchant to write or stamp in the retail price. Some are stamped 5¢, probably by the dime store that sold them.

Unopened package. No rips, tears, dings or scratches. No fading. Haven't seen daylight for decades. Perfect Condition. This item is typical of stuff in the large Dime Store merchandise finds we made. We pack it securely and send it First Class U.S. Postal.

Notice :

This item is a genuine vintage toy from an era when there were no safety standards. It probably contains, or is, a choking hazard, and probably includes other features that are not suitable for children to play with.
