Free with Fill-up of 8 Gallons or MoreGulf Gas Station PromoBalsa Wood Airplane GliderRemember in the 1950's and 1960's when gas stations were called service stations? They pumped the gas and they gave out road maps and had promotions that gave away premiums like Pens, Calendars, Thermometers, Toys, etc. We have a small box of these Balsa wood gliders that say, Art's Service Station ~ Phone 2731 and has the old blue and orange Gulf logo. ![]() See Photo at Bottom of PageSome small towns in rural areas still used 4 digit phone numbers up through the Late 1970's. The glider has a wingspan of 12 inches and is 8 ½ inches long. It has an adjustable slot in the body for the front wing that lets you slide the wing forward and backwards and put it at angles. This allows the user to either fly straight for distance or do stunts like loop the loops! Typical of the Gas Station premiums, it was like the 5¢ glider or Nickel Planes sold at dime stores. ![]() See Photo at Bottom of PageNotice :This item is a genuine vintage toy from an era when there were no safety standards. It probably contains, or is, a choking hazard, and probably includes other features that are not suitable for children to play with. It is not being sold as a toy for a child to play with, but as a genuine vintage collectable item for adults. |
