Black Raspberries ~ 1920's


This cardboard box is 3 ½ by 2 ½ inches, and 5 inches tall. Distinctive color graphics with generous use of gilded ink! Evaporated Black Raspberries packaged by John Blaul's Sons Co. Burlington and Cedar Rapids Iowa. 4B (BBBB) Trademark. They were an 1800's and 1900's regional grocery distributor, who brought in groceries in large quantities on the Mississippi River and processed and repackaged goods in their own brand boxes & bottles and distributed them to Ma & Pa grocers, and sent them Out West for settlers and railroad towns in the expanding frontier.

On the side it says, This carton contained 12 Oz. Net weight when packed. Subject to change from natural causes. Fancy, multi-color graphics cover all 4 sides and the top and the bottom! Minor water stain on one corner of the bottom flap, otherwise, Perfect Unused Condition.We pack it securely and mail it to you First Class U.S. Postal.
