This distinctive Grocer sign is printed in red on thick card stock. It says, Jumbo Fresh Roasted Peanuts ~ Special Today ~ ____ Per Pound. With a place to write in the price with a black crayon. 11 inches high, 8 ¾ inches wide, a hanging hole at the top center.

This sign is from the 1920's and was supplied to Grocers by food wholesaler, John Blaul's Sons Co. Burlington and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They were an 1800's and early 1900's regional coffee roaster and grocery food distributor, who brought in groceries in large quantities on barges on the Mississippi River and repackaged goods in their own brand boxes and distributed them by rail to Ma & Pa grocers and General Stores and sent them Out West, for settlers and railroad towns in the expanding frontier.
