Coffee Premium Giveaway


This set of two exceptional coffee signs were used by a small grocery or general store as a promotional giveaway of Dinnerware or a Water Tumbler with the purchase of coffee. These distinctive coffee advertising signs are both from the 1920's and were supplied by the wholesaler of the coffee, John Blaul's Sons Co. Burlington and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They were an 1800's and early 1900's regional grocery distributor, who brought in groceries in large quantities on barges on the Mississippi River and repackaged goods in their own brand boxes and distributed them by rail to Ma & Pa grocers and General Stores and sent them Out West, for settlers and railroad towns in the expanding frontier.

The Dinnerware sign is for Chinaware Coffee sign is 11 by 8 ¾ inches, 2 color ink on heavy cardboard. It says, Return 5 empty bags to your grocer and receive Cup, Saucer and Plate FREE.

The Water Tumbler sign is for Gold Cup Coffee and is red on Thick card stock. It is 11 inches by 8 inches and offers a Free Libbey Safedge Water Tumbler with every pound of Gold Cup Coffee, and has a ¢ sign for the price to be written in.
