Jeep Die Cast Toy Car

Jeep Toy Car in a 10¢ Dime Store Display Package dated 1954. This 1950s die cast metal toy jeep has extraordinary details. 2 ¾ inches long. The distinctive Jeep military style is evident with the spare wheel and gas can on the back, and the Army style front bumper. However, the unique 3 color paint format highlights prominent details creating the first SUV style utility vehicle. A 1950s favorite for hunters, campers and farmers, the Jeep proved itself as more than just a reliable war vehicle.
This toy was made by Midgetoy, Rockford, ILL. The toy comes in a cellophane bag with a top tag stapled on. The top tag is bedecked with the Midgetoy elves, and says, Junior Size Jeep, and is marked 10¢. It is dated ©1954. We found a few boxes of toys like these in an old dime store distributors warehouse.
