Parlor Magic Trick Chinese Bead Illusion Magicians Pocket Apparatus Apparatus for an amazing parlor illusion that can be carried in your pocket. The famous Chinese Bead Illusion. This effect has been around for more than a century. A classic pocket trick that is so mystifying that it is classified as a parlor illusion. The magician has a pair of strings of equal length. He also has three large beads. He threads the strings through the 3 beads and has a spectator (or two) hold the arrangement by both ends. Two strings, threaded through 3 beads, held tightly at each end by audience members. The performer covers the beads with a hanky, reaches up underneath the hanky and removes the beads from the strings. All the time the ends of the strings are held tightly by a spectator! Finally, the magician pulls away the hanky and the spectator is holding 2 bare strings by the ends. All can be passed out for examination. An astonishing feat of prestidigitation. They will talk about this one for a while. It takes a little skill and some practice, but the trick can be easily mastered in a few nights.
