The qualities and character are classic early 1900's, featuring fancy graphics. This distinctive box is from the 1910's Food Processor, Coffee Roaster and Grocer Wholesaler, John Blaul's Sons Co. Burlington and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They were an 1800's and early 1900's regional grocery distributor.

They purchased food and provisions in large quantities, shipped them in on barges on the Mississippi River and processed and packaged goods in their own brand boxes and distributed them by rail to Ma & Pa grocers and General Stores and sent them Out West, for settlers and railroad towns in the expanding frontier. Currants are similar to raisins, and were popular with settlers because they had a long shelf life. It is 5 ½ inches tall, and held 11 ounces of imported, cleaned, currants. A seldom seen quality box with excellent graphics. Unused, Perfect Condition. We pack it securely and mail it to you First Class U.S. Postal.
