These impressive old label bands have exceptional graphics. Union Workman has the Burley Tobacco and scrollwork, the Sweet Mist has a distinctive picture with 3 young maidens frolicking in a water fountain. Striking 3 color offset printing. Both are packaged by Scotten Dillon Co. Detroit, Mich. These genuine Tobacco band labels fit the pocket size tobacco plugs.

A tobacco plug was a small, loosely compressed puck of tobacco that was the common pocket size to buy. Depending on the cut it would be for smoking or chewing or both. Covered in foil, then wrapped with this paper band label, It sold for a nickel. The Sweet Mist label dimension is 12 by 4 ¼ inches. The Union Workman is 13 by 5 ½ inches. Perfect Condition.
