This exceptional merchandising unit is made of die cut cardboard. It is forest green and pale yellow. The unique distinctive curved shape creates an attractive store counter display, and it didn't take up much valuable counter top space near the till. It forms into a generous sized receptacle that holds free samples of Cigar Cuttings, that were sold for chewing tobacco or a rich pipe tobacco. It is 5 ¾ inches by 4 inches, and stands 2 ½ inches high. Called "93" Cigar Cuttings, one side of the display says A Rich Pipe Smoke. The other side says, A Favorite Chew.

The front curved part says "93" Cigar Cuttings ~ Guaranteed Absolutely Pure and Unadulterated and it has the small union printers bug at the bottom. The back says, To The Dealer. You can assure your customer with complete confidence that "93" Cigar Cuttings are absolutely pure and unadulterated. They can buy none better anywhere. Guaranteed by the John Weisert Tobacco Co, St. Louis, Mo.

Sample displays are few and far between because they never made a lot of them. Unlike product displays each store only needed one. I don't know the exact ratio, but there is probably only one of these for every few hundred bags of "93" Cigar Cuttings. Cigar cuttings are the left over scrap in the factory after making cigars. The last packaging operation would snip the end of the cigar off so the smoker wouldn't have to bite it off. These "snips" were commonly referred to as "Cigar Cuttings" or "Scrap" but contained all the flavor and aroma of the expensive tobaccos. It was bagged up and sold mostly to the blue collar workers that couldn't afford the ready to chew or smoke versions. Some tobacco users actually preferred cuttings or scrap.

Perfect, Unused Condition! Being sold to the highest bidder with no reserve. We pack it securely and mail it to you First Class U.S. Postal.
