Lady Luxury ~ Lynas Perfumer

1890’s Fancy Perfume Bottle

Ground Glass Neck & Stopper

This old perfume bottle is called Lady Luxury by Lynas Perfumer. It has a front label that is mostly Gold Gilded Ink with real gold flake content that makes it sparkle with elegance. And a neck label that matches and says, “Lynas Perfumer”. The front label graphics feature a Victorian Lady near the edge of a pool with a large swan.

Its tapered stance stands 5 inches tall with the glass stopper. It says Lady Luxury at the top. The bottles neck has a flat lip around the bottle that surrounds a tapered ground neck hole. The mating ground neck stopper has a fancy prismatic faceted ornate crown top. A small box of these was found in the old Indiana Lynas Warehouse in the 1980's. They were unused, in an old "Egg Crate" style carton. The stoppers were tied with string to the bottle and the string end tucked in between the stopper and bottle to allow for the easy removal of the stoppers when filling. After filling, they would then remove the string and tie it with a fancy ribbon.

The front, sides and back of the bottle have indented flat panels. The stoppers fit precisely in the neck for an airtight closure. The glass has some imperfections inherent in the process of bottle making of that era, like uneven wall thickness, minor bubbles in the glass, etc.

No Chips, No Nicks, No Cracks, The labels are faultless, The whole thing is in Perfect Condition because they were never filled and sold, always protected in a sealed carton. They were protected from fading and bumping for over a century by a compartmentalized carton. An old Dr. Lynas Perfumer wholesale toiletry and perfume catalog date is as between 1891 and 1900, before they became Dr. Lynas and Son.
