This small tin is a little bit larger than a quarter. (That's a dime in the picture.) Has beautiful portraits of a light skinned Negro couple with their hair slicked down with Sweet Georgia Brown. Exquisite graphics! Produced from the 1930's through the early 1950's. This small tin contained enough hair dressing pomade ( hair grease ) for one application. The instructions are written on the back.

Used exclusively by blacks to straighten and hold down hair. A rare example of black Americana from over a half century ago. Typical patina, few minor paint rubs at the rim. Other than that Perfect Condition. Three are shown in the photo so that you can see all sides. We pack it securely and mail it to you First Class U.S. Postal.
